Fern Grove Community Garden and the National Garden Scheme

Fern Grove Community Garden is a wonderful example of what can be achieved when local communities come together.

We can barely believe that it was only 2 years ago that a couple of local residents decided that they would like to transform this derelict site into a garden that could be enjoyed by local residents and it has been an absolute delight to see this community garden grow from strength to strength.

From the tentative beginnings of the garden having just a couple of key holders to today when there are over 18 key holders, bee hives and regular open times for the local community to come along and enjoy this green space.

This summer on 5 July 2015, the garden opens its gates to the National Garden Scheme where it is featured as a Sefton Park Garden.

There will be lots of activities on the day, including face painting for the children, a bee demonstration for both adults and children and other activities as well as light refreshments.
