Up for a gardening challenge?!

Are you a keen gardener? Proud of your home grown produce? Well, you could be Merseyside's very first 'King or Queen of the crop'...

As part of Liverpool's Food & Drink Spring Festival, 5th-6th April, the search is on for Merseyside's finest vegetable patch. They are calling for amateur gardeners across the city to share photos of their crowning glory in full bloom; whether it's an outstanding allotment, a valued vegetable patch in your garden, school or community centre or even a wonderful window box, they want to see it!

Their new family focussed spring festival will be themed around growing your own garden, with plenty of planting demonstrations and gardening masterclasses on offer. And what better way to celebrate the theme than bringing people together in an edible garden challenge!

So, if you think your allotment, vegetable patch, garden or window box has what it takes, then dig out your photos and help celebrate the dedication of our region's amateur growers.

The best photos will be showcased on the Liverpool Food and Drink Festival website and Facebook page with the winner receiving:

£50 voucher to spend at Whitakers garden centre
A hamper packed with gardening goodies
A guaranteed place at a festival masterclass of your choice
A free two-day family pass to the festival

The winner will be announced on 20th March. To enter, tweet your photo to @LivFoodDrink, or email to leanne@skevents.co.uk
