Harvest time at the Adult Learning Service

Over the last few months a group of volunteers from Wheel Meet Again and I have been working tirelessly to make the Granby Adult Learning Service garden a relaxing green space for learners and staff. The fantastic volunteers are starting to see the fruits of their labours.

There are three beds altogether. One has our fruits and veggies like courgettes, beetroot, tomatoes, chilis, peas and radishes (the ALS cafe are already using these as ingredients for their dishes!).

Another has our herbs, which are free for anyone to take leaves from to add some kick to their meals. The final bed is for wildflowers, which have mostly annuals like cornflowers and borage, but also biennials like foxgloves which are lying in wait until next year when they'll produce amazing towers of flowers!
