Last Friday the TUC ( Trade Union Congress) together with the CCG ( Clinical Commissioning Group) and PSS ( Person, Shape, Support) came to GTDT to hold blood pressure training. This is all part of a new campaign - Know your numbers and the people who attend this session will become health activators who with their community engagement skills will be able to offer a blood pressure reading to the local people.
During the training we were told of how screening appointments are being missed by residents within our local area and how vital it is for people to get early detection on not only blood pressure but cervical screening and bowel cancer detection.We will be holding some health and well-being events quite soon so keep posted for more details.
