If you haven't already started your potatoes now is the time to chit.
Chitting simply means encouraging the seed potatoes to sprout before planting. The reasons to chit your potatoes is so you can achieve a heavier crop.
Stand the blunt end of the potato up in a egg box or add some seed potatoes into a seed tray always make sure that you place them in natural light i.e. a window sill and wait until the shoots become short and stumpy that is when they are ready to be planted out, this process can take up to 6 weeks.
