Paul Allen from the Centre for Alternative Technology today ran a very stimulating workshop on Zero Carbon Britain today, attended by practitioners from the L8 Living Sustainably project.
Starting with the Big Bang, Paul took us all on a journey from pre-history to present day consumerism, at the end of which no-one could be in any doubt that our present approach to energy consumption is not sustainable. During the workshop we were all invited to imagine what life might be like in 2030 if we don't fundamentally change things - a fascinating session which avoided the usual dyspotian cliches.
