We're feeling souper!

We are getting together with Liverpool Mutual Homes to test out our Community Living Room ideas.

The Community Living Room involves people coming together and sharing (in our case) energy and food.  By coming together in one place and eating together, we are saving energy, for example if 20 people attended at lunchtime, we would only be putting on one pan of soup instead of 20.  The same principle applies to the heating and lighting that each person would use if they were in their own homes.

Coming together in this way also provides us with an opportunity to engage with local residents and share our plans for growing food, saving energy and just generally socialise about who we are, what we do and what they would like to get involved in.

With Liverpool Mutual Homes, we are providing a pan of simple homemade soup and locally baked bread and coming together with residents in local sheltered accommodation schemes. We want to talk to them about growing food and saving energy and maybe this time next year, we will be making soup out of what they have grown!

Our first event, is planned for 2 December 2014 and hopefully this will be the first of many around the L8 Living Sustainably area.
